Weekends with Daisy

A mother and journalist signs up for a weekend puppy-raising program in which a service dog in training spends the week with a convicted felon in prison and the weekends with a volunteer. Sharron Kahn Luttrell co-parents the golden retriever Daisy with Keith, an inmate serving a forty-year sentence, and an unlikely friendship grows between them. A memoir about second chances, redemption, and what dogs can teach us.
