Dear Senthuran

Akwaeke Emezi

An epistolary memoir in which Akwaeke Emezi reflects on their spiritual and creative evolution. The letters are addressed to friends, family, an ex-lover, Toni Morrison, and Senthuran Varatharajah, their German translator, who inspired the book's form. Emezi, who identifies as ogbanje, an Igbo spirit that is also a god, writes about identity, writing, love and what it means to be a Black spirit in a human body.
