My thoughts

4.5/5 stars Why should the injured, the still bleeding, bear the onus of forgiveness? This is one I would recommend to everyone but only when you are in the mood for a slow build. It does take some time to grab your 100% attention but when it does, it definitely leaves a lasting impact! This isn't a story about a murder, this isn't a mystery to be solved (there is no big whodunit) but it is more of a survival story, a story of a young girl trying to cope with her abandonment, her loneliness and just trying to live. Special mention for the lyrical writing style and the symbolism in the book, I'm definitely in love and cannot wait to read more by them!!! TWs for the book: profanity, child neglect, and abandonment, child abuse, attempted rape, violence, possible murder, sexual situations, alcoholism, racial slurs, and overly judgmental people. Please look into these before going in!
