My Heart Is a Chainsaw (The Indian Lake Trilogy, #1) opens Goodreads in a new tab

Jade Daniels is an angry, half-Indigenous teenager who hides from a troubled home life in the blood-soaked world of slasher films. When a rich family builds a lavish lake house in the small town of Proofrock, Idaho, and bodies begin to turn up, Jade is convinced a real slasher is at work and tries to warn the town. A love letter to horror that is also a story about class, trauma, and belonging, by Stephen Graham Jones.
