lmao if i say anything along the lines of me loving this book, i don't think i can escape judgment but damn i did. sayaka murata you fucked up in the head bro. convenience store women was a 4.5 and this was fucking 5/5 stars like i have never read anything this fucked and disturbing and grotesque yet i was here for all of it. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE CUTE LITTLE COVER (i thought it was gonna be a cutesy story too) but the trauma begins in the first few chapters only. this books explores the themes of society vs individuality very well (and so much) be wary tho the book has pretty dark themes. content warning for child abuse, rape (of a minor), murder, incest, cannibalism (very much present and graphic)
