Pedagogy of the Oppressed opens Goodreads in a new tab
Paulo Freire
Pedagogy of the Oppressed, a foundational text of critical pedagogy, proposes a new relationship between teacher, student and society. Dedicated to the oppressed and grounded in Freire's experience helping Brazilian adults learn to read and write, it includes a detailed class analysis of the relationship between colonizer and colonized. Freire criticizes the banking model of education, which treats students as empty vessels, and argues that learners should be co-creators of knowledge.

My thoughts
5/5stars I don't have words that will do justice to this book. I can only say that this book made me questions so many things and believes I was just taking for granted to date. It was a definite eye-opener. Cannot recommend it enough. It should be a MUST READ in fact.
