Acts of God opens Goodreads in a new tab

In a post-nuclear winter world, free from borders, war, poverty and overpopulation, the smartest man on the planet is working on the most illegal thing imaginable. Once a celebrated scientist, Dr K has resigned as head of the Scientific Institute and spends his days in a hungover haze, but he is secretly simulating universes, intervening in them, and terminating them when they fail. His delicate interferences keep coming up short against one unlikely spanner in the works, the bumbling private detective P. Manjunath. Kanan Gill's first novel blends inventive storytelling with an interrogation of the nature of existence.
