On Drinking opens Goodreads in a new tab

Bukowski expert Abel Debritto has collected the writer's most profound, funny and memorable work on his ups and downs with alcohol, a topic that allowed Bukowski to explore some of life's most pressing questions. Alcohol was his muse and his fuel, a conflicted relationship responsible for some of his darkest moments and some of his most joyful and inspired. The collection brings together poetry, prose, interviews, letters, drawings and photographs from 1961 to 1992.
