The Will of the Many (Hierarchy, #1) opens Goodreads in a new tab

5 ⭐️ went into it absolutely blind (by that i mean i had heard ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about this book prior to getting a copy) but holy hell WHAT WAS THIS BOOK!? think i found a new favourite fantasy book to obsess over, there was so so much happening. the spectacular world building, the character arcs and the plethora of political intrigue- it was all so so so intense. this book kept me on my toes the whole time. it had all the tropes you can expect from a typical fantasy novel- a smart orphan adopted by the influential man, the dark academia setting, the impending doom of the a cataclysm, and so so so much more. this book had me juggling between siding between military and religion?!?! LIKE DAMN OKAY idk what side to be on anymore even after finishing the book! although i REALLY need the next book to come out like yesterday because i can NOT wait to find out what happens here on (the ending is satisfactory enough, but there is so much more about this world, the characters and the story that i I NEED to know, like asap)- WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT LAST CHAPTER WHAT IS JAMES ISLINGTON SCHEMING!!? special mention for the character arc of the main character (vis). there was no one really that i trusted from the start- everyone had their own agenda but the way vis behaves towards the end,,, is definitely something. I HATE THAT THEY KILLED OFF THE CALLIDUS?? was that really necessary? but again is a fantasy novel even complete if the most beloved character doesn’t die lol (alot of reviews compared this to robin hobb’s works but i haven’t read any of those but it is supposedly very comparable in terms of world building and political intrigue) TOTALLY GONNA MAKE ALL OF MY FRIENDS READ THIS SO I CAN DISSECT EVERY DETAIL OF THIS BOOK WITH THEM!
