rr 2024. still a solid 4.5 ⭐️ "No matter what they wish for, no matter how far they go, people can never be anything but themselves." Typical Murakami book just shorter than the usual ones. It's barely 40 pages with the large print so difficult to talk about without giving away spoilers but it is a damn beautiful work, the way it leaves you thinking, wondering what more is there to it, wondering what you'd have done in their place- it's something that'd stay at the back of your mind even days after reading it. And rereading it for Murakami's birthday today was perfect because now I can go back to thinking about the ending AGAIN. Some people might not like the vagueness of the story but hey that's Murakami for you!!
