My thoughts
where do i even begin describing the number of problems i have with this book jesus fuck okay lemme try- 1. ending- sucked ass. wtf was that. no idc there is a sequel a book should have some sort of cohesive ending. i don’t mind open endings but this doesn’t even qualify as that. 2. chris, our mmc. my god i could slap this man- he makes my blood boil!! he is such a brainless idiotic man i struggle to believe how he even got through med school with that absolute lack of brain cells. imagine being so blindsided by your “love” that you can’t see the glaring red flags and signs but also to not do anything about when it is LITERALLY SPELLED OUT TO YOU. (not getting into spoilers here but there is a review on here that categorically lists all of this man’s stupidities and ignorant actions) 3. Janie- this character jesus. gave me absolute chills as was intended. this book, just like all others with evil children ticks a certain part of my brain and i am always left so horrified. that was very well done. but my problem is how this child who clearly needs help- professional help isn’t given that ever. even by the end of the book- we don’t know for sure if she got onto her rehabilitation journey, is doing better or not. and i know it’s gonna be a long road but some indication of that? anything at all? otherwise what is the point? i could go on and on about so many other minute things that i didn’t like about the book. but it doesn’t matter i am clearly in the minority here because everyone seems to love it. although credit where credit is due because this book did do one of it’s jobs well- giving me chills. absolutely terrifying that child. but the plot didn’t go anywhere, the ending seemed rushed, and the mmc annoyed me so much with his stupidity and blind love. anyway! on to the next one lmfao. will probably still check out some of the other books by the author?
