Doctor Zhivago opens Goodreads in a new tab

Yuri Zhivago, a doctor and poet, is caught up in the upheaval of the Russian Revolution and civil war. Through the years of chaos, he is torn between duty to his wife Tonya and a deep love for Lara, a nurse whose life repeatedly crosses his own. A sweeping epic of love, loss and survival, and a defense of the individual spirit against history.
