How to Commit a Postcolonial Murder opens Goodreads in a new tab
Nina McConigley
In 1986 Wyoming, mixed-race twelve-year-old Georgie Ayyar Creel and her thirteen-year-old sister Agatha Krishna blame British colonialism for the way they feel out of place. Their family is split in many ways: India from Pakistan, brown from white in their small rural town, and the identities within their interracial household. When their abusive uncle Vinny harms them, the sisters plot to kill him by putting antifreeze in his drinks. Part dark comedy, part bildungsroman, and told with teen-magazine quizzes that mirror the plot, this debut novel is a thrilling story of family and belonging.

My thoughts
cool cover, haunting story- but it was super repetitive after a point despite being a short novella.
