Long Bright River opens Goodreads in a new tab

Liz Moore

Kacey and Mickey were once inseparable sisters but have not spoken in years. Mickey is a Philadelphia police officer patrolling Kensington, the neighborhood where Kacey, who lives with heroin addiction, has gone missing. When women start being murdered in the area, Mickey must risk everything to find her sister before it is too late. Alternating between the present-day investigation and the sisters' troubled childhood, it is a suspense novel that is also a moving story of sisters, addiction and the formidable ties between place, family and fate.

My thoughts

3.5/5🌟 rounded up not a mystery. not a thriller. definitely not the most in depth nuanced conversation sparking book about addiction and the struggles of it. still a decent read, especially for the genre mixing and for the topics touched. although i do think this would have been better if the main character wasn’t so naive at times.
