Incidents Around the House opens Goodreads in a new tab

Eight-year-old Bela lives in Chaps, Michigan, with her Mommy, Daddo and Grandma Ruth. After her parents leave her bedroom at night, a creature calling herself Other Mommy emerges from the closet. Her eyes migrate around her head, and she keeps asking Bela the same question: can she go inside Bela's heart? As horrifying incidents around the house show that Other Mommy is growing stronger and more impatient, Bela must decide whether to say yes before her family pays the price, while cracks appear in her parents' marriage. A chilling tale of a family as haunted as their home.
