Slot Machine Fever Dreams opens Goodreads in a new tab

Dove is a recovering alcoholic covered in Emily Dickinson tattoos who tends bar at a Las Vegas casino. When Russell, a man on a hot streak at the slot machines, claims to manage a chain restaurant, his tells suggest very different skills. The two leave together at the end of the night, but once all pretense is stripped away they find themselves in a fight for their lives. A gritty, tense short story from the author of The Flight Attendant, part of the Obsession collection of stories about people pushed to their extremes.
